Bright green leaf crystals of volborthite with contrasting dark blue chrysocolla in association.Really nice specimen. The San Jose mine became famous in 2010 for the mine collapse and subsequent rescue of 33 miners who were trapped 700 meters underground for 69 days.

Name origin:
Named in honor of Alexander Fedorovich Volborth (Александр Федорович Фольборт) (1800, Mogilev, Russian Empire - 1876, St. Petersburg, Russian Empire), paleontologist, who first noted the mineral. At least ten fossil species are also named after him.
