Quartz var. "Tiger Eye" - Cape Prov. - Southafrica (#:GM18062)

"Tiger eye" is a mixture of quartz and anphibole and is chatoyant because of parallel intergrowth of quartz crystals and altered amphibole fibres that mostly turned into limonite. In this specimen is visible in two veins between the riolitic matrix.
