A well shaped 6 mm crystals of this REE , perched in contrasting matrix from this classic locality. All former Allanites-Ce from Trimouns seem to be Dissakisite-Ce.

Name origin:
Named in 1810 by Thomas Thomson for Thomas Allan (1777-1833), Scottish mineralogist, who first observed the mineral. The Levinson rule suffix, -(Ce), was later added to designate this species as the Ce-dominant member among all allanites.
