Parallel aggregate of two laminar and very sharp Hydroxylbastnäsite-(Ce) crystals, between transparent and translucent, with deep orangey color set on a massive Calcite matrix with small Dolomite and mica crystal. Formerly classified as Bastnäsite-(Ce), the samples from Trimouns have been recently determined to be Hydroxylbastnäsite-(Ce)

Name origin: For the locality at the Bastnäs mines, Riddarhyttan, Skinnskatteberg, Västmanland, Sweden, plus the "Hydroxyl" prefix due to the dominance of the hydroxyl radical over fluorine and the "-(Ce)" suffix due to the dominance of cerium in the composition.
