Sphalerite - Joplin Field, Tri-State District, Jasper Co., Missouri, USA
(#:MINS7874)
Gem, highly lustrous, ruby-jack sphalerite crystals with shocking flashes of reddish-orange and yellow color cover the matrix on this superlative, old-time specimen from the famous Joplin Field. The gemminess, color and quality of these crystals are top-notch for the locale and are very rarely seen on the market. The entire field of sphalerites is gemmy. This is very old-time material dating to the 1950s or much earlier. Ex.Francesco Bedognč collection.
