Wardite, Rapid Creek area, Yukon, Canada (#:MINS8212)

This is a remarkable floaterof large, translucent, with golden-yellow color Wardite crystals 2 cm across, from this famous locality which certainly has produced the world's best for the species. Crystal of this size are not common to find.

Name origin: Named after Henry Augustus Ward (1834-1906), Professor of Natural Sciences, University of Rochester, Rochester, New York, USA. He was also a collector and founder of Ward s Natural Science Establishment in Rochester, which deals in natural history objects.
