Cluster of very sharp Bastnäsite-(Ce) crystals 8 mm in width between transparent and translucent, with orangey color set on contrasting dolomite matrix.

Name origin: For the locality at the Bastnäs mines, Riddarhyttan, Skinnskatteberg, Västmanland, Sweden, plus the "Hydroxyl" prefix due to the dominance of the hydroxyl radical over fluorine and the "-(Ce)" suffix due to the dominance of cerium in the composition.
